Carriers are substances that are used in foods to evenly distribute other components of the food. The carrier itself remains neutral, this consequently has no taste of its own and is colorless.
Labeling
But not all carriers have to be listed in the list of ingredients. According to Article 20 of Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 ingredients that are removed during production and subsequently added again do not have to be labeled. This also includes enzymes or additives that originate from the food and no longer have a technological effect in the finished product. In addition, substances that are used as processing aids can also remain undisclosed.
Our handling of carriers
Regardless of whether carriers are subject to labeling or not, transparency is close to our hearts. We therefore disclose the complete composition of our raw materials to our customers and are happy to provide information about the manufacturing process.
