Menopause is a natural phase of life – often accompanied by hot flashes, sleep problems, mood swings, and low concentration/energy levels. Many women desire natural, plant-based support in addition to lifestyle changes and – where appropriate – medical options such as HRT (hormone replacement therapy). What does the research say – and what is realistic?
Important note: Dietary supplements do not treat diseases. Depending on the active ingredient and individual situation, they can provide supportive relief from symptoms. Please always discuss potential interactions and personal risks (medications, diagnoses) with a healthcare professional.
General Information
During menopause, the ovaries gradually cease hormone production (primarily estrogen and progesterone). This leads to the end of the menstrual cycle and typical accompanying symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood swings, and dry skin.
Menopause usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. The first hormonal changes (perimenopause) can begin as early as the mid-40s.
What can help?
Phytoestrogens from soy (isoflavones)
For what? Primarily hot flashes/vasomotor symptoms (VMS).
Evidence: Current meta-analyses show small to moderate benefits compared to placebo for menopausal symptoms, sometimes specifically for hot flashes. Furthermore, recent analyses found no evidence of "estrogenicity" in relevant biomarkers in postmenopausal women.
Our Soy Extracts with Isoflavones
Sage (Salvia officinalis)
For what? Hot flashes/perspirant sweating.
Evidence: Individual randomized controlled trials (RCTs) show benefits; a recent review found consistent reductions in frequency/severity. However, there are also analyses without a clear effect – the data is therefore heterogeneous.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
What for? Stress, sleep, general menopausal symptoms.
Evidence: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in perimenopausal women report improvements in menopausal scores, sleep, and psychological parameters; reviews from 2025 draw a positive conclusion. Regulatory oversight/individual restrictions exist in parts of Europe – marketability should be regularly reviewed.

Did you know?
For a long time, menopause was taboo or ridiculed in society – as a "women's issue" or a sign of aging. Today, this is slowly changing:
- Media and brands are talking about it more openly.
- More and more women are demanding education and the destigmatization of menopause.
- Medical expertise, advice, and holistic support services are on the rise.
- Nevertheless, the topic often remains underrepresented—especially compared to other life stages like pregnancy.
