Plant foods to influence LDL

LDL stands for "low-density lipoprotein". This protein is responsible for transporting cholesterol from the liver to the body's cells. As soon as the cells can no longer absorb it, it remains in the blood and changes its structure. A high LDL content in the blood is therefore colloquially referred to as "bad cholesterol" and is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

Since the body absorbs cholesterol through food, preference should be given to foods that contain unsaturated fatty acids. Animal foods should be replaced by plant foods.
