The favorite food of sheep

The (common) yarrow (Achillea millefolium) belongs to the daisy family and is a perennial plant that can reach a height of up to one meter. It is now widespread throughout the world, but originated in the entire northern hemisphere. 

​The genus name Achillea can be traced back to Greek mythology: the actually immortal Achilles had his Achilles' heel healed with yarrow during the Battle of Troy. Millefolium can be translated as "thousand little leaves".

The plant contains many valuable ingredients. Among them are essential oils, such as azulene, geraniol, alkaloids or linalool. In addition, minerals, bitter substances, flavonoids and terpenes are contained.
