Valerian as a medicinal plant

The so-called true valerian was already used as a medicinal plant in ancient Greece. At that time it was known as a so-called panacea. It is the roots that are processed as a remedy.

The plant is now mainly used to treat sleep disorders, restlessness & tension, nervousness or irritability. Compared to other sleep-inducing preparations, valerian is much better tolerated and is not addictive.
