Often misunderstood as a weed, dandelion actually has many health-promoting properties. Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) belongs to the daisy family and is a particularly environmentally resistant plant.

Dandelion contains bitter substances, triterpenes, carotenoids as well as minerals.

Application

For medicinal purposes, both the roots and the herb are used. The plant is mainly used for indigestion, bloating and flatulence, and loss of appetite. The plant can also be used as a diuretic.
