The superfood and its applications

Camu camu has long been used as a medicinal plant by indigenous peoples in the rainforest. The plant belongs to the myrtle family and is native to the Amazon. It grows in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and northern Brazil. 

The Camu Camu fruits are berries and grow on a shrub that can reach a height of up to 8 meters. 

Ingredients

The fruits are attributed positive health properties. They are rich in vitamin C, as well as vitamins B1, B2, B2 and provitamin A. In addition, the berry has high amounts of calcium, potassium and iron. Amino acids and proteins are also contained in the fruit.

Fields of application

The berry is traditionally believed to have antioxidant, anti-allergic, anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, invigorating and energizing properties.

Camu Camu is therefore used to strengthen the body's defenses. It can also be taken to prevent flu and colds. It helps with allergies, headaches or migraines and is also considered an aphrodisiac.
